Highlights:

• Checked off a pretty remote National Park (Bristlecone Trail, Glacier Trail, Alpine Lake Trail, Baker Creek Trail and Lehman Caves)
• So many silly Area 51, UFO, ET related landmarks
• Finally, another use for all that night running gear I bought for various Ragnars

Low-lights:

• The truth was out there, unfortunately that truth was that I’m old and slow
• Saw a grand total of 0 UFOs
• If you start to walk the desert flies attack

Highlights:

• Fox Harb’r, Cabot Cliffs, Cabot Links, Kebo Valley – So much pre-race golf
• Training run tour of Stephen King Derry sites (Paul Bunyan, the Standpipe, that sewer on the corner of Jackson and Union, the Barrens)
• Warm-up runs through two National Parks (One US, One Canadian)

Low-lights:

• Still not very good at golf and apparently I got Covid at some point

Thanks:

• Shannon for granting permission for a guys golf getaway that coincided with her birthday
• The weather gods who allowed us to comfortably get in 6 rounds in Nova Scotia in May
• The New England Challenge team for hosting an event on the random Wednesday morning that I was in Rhode Island

• Two rounds of winter golf in Hilton Head including a virtually private round at Harbour Town Golf Links
• Breweries in three different states, finally completed growler acquisition from Georgia and Mississippi
• Checked off two more state capitol buildings (Florida and Tennessee)

Low-lights:

• Misplaced a few golf balls
• The world’s largest cast iron skillet not ready unveiled until the following summer
• Display housing the world’s largest cedar bucket closed on Mondays

Highlights:

• Five thousand plus piece Lego Star Wars
• Four state growlers (WV, OH, IN, MI)
• Three minor league hockey games (Wheeling, Cincinnati, Toledo)
• Two very different museums (Flight 93 and A Christmas Story House)
• And an unseasonably warm round of December golf

Low-lights:

• Failed to get to Lansing, only one state capitol visited (Columbus)
• That first brewery in Indiana that wouldn’t sell me a growler
• Beautiful but tough trails, getting kind of old and slow
