- Golf, golf, marathon, golf an ideal four day schedule of events
- Ran a very conservative first loop, passed almost everyone on my second loop
- Free pottery to the top three overall runners

- Couldn’t keep my post-marathon round of golf under 100

Highlights:
- Randomly came across a Knoxville Ice Bears game down the block from my hotel
- Solid real life Simpsons references
- Pilgrimage to Athens for some R.E.M. sites
Low-lights:
- Manage to lose my drivers license in the middle of the Georgia Tech campus during my post-work run, had to retrace my route turning a 7 miler into something close to a 12 miler
- Most of Great Smoky Mountains National Park inaccessible due to a brush fire
- 80 degrees and humid on race day, totally blew up in the final four miles
